What is CBD?
CBD is a compound taken from the cannabis plant. Unlike the THC compound, CBD doesn’t get you high or have psychoactive effects. Researchers have been looking at the possible therapeutic uses of CBD, and there are signs of potential health benefits, including reduced inflammation and pain.
Natural pain relief and anti-inflammatory properties
In 2019 a study revealed how CBD, which was applied to the skin as an ointment, reduced inflammatory skin disease and scarring.
Positive studies have supported the notion that CBD can help with arthritis in animals.
In 2016 the European Journal of Pain used animals to see if CBD could help people with arthritis to manage their pain. After using a CBD gel over four days, the researchers found a significant drop in inflammation and signs of pain without additional side effects.
