5 Reasons CBD Might Not Be Working For You
If you’ve tried CBD and didn’t experience the results you expected, there could be many different reasons for this. You might have friends or family who take it and find it very beneficial, but for some reason, you just don't feel like CBD is working for you.
In this article, our experts here at Orange County CBD have taken a look why this might potentially be the case - and how to change that!
You might not be taking the right dosage of CBD for you
When it comes to the right dosage for CBD, everyone is different, which is why it can sometimes be tricky to work out how much to take. Everyone has their own unique biological response to CBD and a tolerance level that might be different to the next person.
It’s recommended to start with a low dose of CBD and slowly increase this over time e.g. small increases each week, until you find a daily dose that seems to work best for you.
It’s also worth noting that CBD comes in a wide range of different strengths too.
Therefore, half a pipette of CBD oil from a 1000mg bottle is entirely different to the same volume of CBD from a 6000mg bottle. It’s really important to ensure that you know the strength of CBD that you’re taking so you can work out the right starting dose and go from there.
Quality comes before quantity with CBD
All CBD is not created equal! Unfortunately, not all CBD products are necessarily of the quality you might expect, which can lead to disappointing results.
It’s important that you buy your CBD products from a reputable company who can provide assurances about them. CBD can have differences due to the original source of the cannabis plants that the compound is extracted from, along with the specific process used to do so and the process it undergoes when manufactured into the products you buy.
All of our CBD oil bottles have a peel and reveal section on our packaging which gives you all the information you need to know about our CBD. We also publish lab results on our products so you can see exactly what you’re getting.
You may need to give the CBD more time to work
Some people report that they feel the benefits of CBD almost immediately after taking it for the first time, yet for others it seems to take several weeks or even months of everyday use before they notice anything different. This is due to the fact that everyone has a different response to CBD and, like many supplements that you take daily, it builds in the system over time.
You might need to take CBD a different way
There are now a wide variety of different ways to take CBD and some people seem to find that some delivery methods work better for them than others, even if they take a similar CBD dose in both. The way you take CBD will have an impact on how it reaches the bloodstream and how much of it makes it there in the first place.
For example, taking CBD gummies or other CBD edibles, or adding CBD oil to food or drink means that it goes through your digestive process before entering the bloodstream, so if this is your normal method of delivery, you might want to try taking it another way, such as CBD oil drops under the tongue, which gets into your system more quickly.
Other ways to take CBD that you might want to try, depending on why you’re taking it, could include CBD bath bombs, CBD vape juices or other topical CBD products, like face cream or muscle rub.
CBD might not be for you
It might be the case that CBD simply doesn’t have much of a noticeable effect on you. Due to the unique nature of everyone’s own response to CBD, it can mean that some people don’t seem to benefit from it in the same way as others believe they do. This could be down to genetics, your metabolism, your biochemistry or a combination of these things.
If you aren’t sure if CBD is working for you, we recommend you try some of the things mentioned above to see if a simple change to dosage, brand, product or the length of time that you take it for might make the difference that you’re looking for.
